M It is difficult for an old person to find a new partner; likewise, the old person may not be interested in getting married - or remarrying

L A shameless individual - like a child who steals from his mother or father

L A puzzling individual , like a [married] woman who eats with the servants
M A woman who lived in a household with indentured servants was expected to uphold her superior status and not mix freely with the servants - to the extent of eating with them. Whenever this happened, people got puzzled. It is equally puzzling when a person of a high status regularly interacts with people of a much lower rank

L 'Rid yourself of the bone that is stuck in your throat' - like the food of a hardworking farmer
M A hardworking farmer grows a variety of food crops and can select a variety of ingredients for her dishes. When a person eating one of her dishes gets chocked, people around him say 'Kagumba wegoge', meaning, 'if a bone has got stuck in your throat, get rid of it

L Your mother's bushy (banana) plantation, is better than a well-cared-for plantation which is owned by your father
M The little that a mother owns, will be shared with her children,whereas a father's possessions might be shared between all the step siblings and relatives

M Overpraising a child can give him a false sense of security, which could encourage him to pursue greater risks or challenges and ultimately jeopardize his life

L It has two eyes; it sees you when you pick up a stone.
M A person who lives/works in a hostile environment must always be alert and cautious, like a bird(small animal), which flies(runs away) the minute you pick up a stone to kill it

L He is malicious talker, like a favorite person who reports a defense attorney(to the chief)
M A malicious person has no sense in judgement, and talks irresponsibly. He can even decide to incriminate an attorney - although the latter is more conversant with the law and defense procedures - and will be oblivious to the consequences of such a move

L The tongue of a borrower is soft when he comes to borrow
M A prospective borrower has an impeccable appearance, speaks politely, and employs persuasive language. But when it is time to repay, he becomes rude,irritable and unmasks his real personality

L It is full of all sorts of things, like the garden of a lazy person

L Bad talk, can cause an innocent person to be killed - when he is mistaken for a witch
